About Us:

The Madison County Fair Association, as stated in the bylaws, the object of the corporation shall be to establish, operate, maintain, conduct, manage and control an annual agricultural, industrial, cultural, educational trade and scientific fair in the County of Madison, State of Illinois.

Although the object is to operate a county fair, exhibitors and spectators from a much larger geographical area are drawn to the fair as well as the local community. Many volunteers work and donate their time and talents throughout the year to help facilitate successful entertainment and exhibits for the fair. All age groups benefit from the educational opportunities provided at a county fair whether they learn about a topic while preparing a project to present or they spend time viewing or listening about an exhibit while visiting the fair. Madison County Fair has an average yearly attendance of approximately 216,600 visitors who range from 4-H members, to show onlookers, to the disabled, to venders, to community volunteers, to livestock, horticulture, craft, and other exhibitors. The fair is a unique event in Highland, and the city is fortunate to host such a huge event that enables the surrounding community to gather for learning, sharing, and entertainment.

The Madison County Fair Association was chartered in 1872 and has evolved into what it is today with the hard work and dedication of numerous members, all volunteer, who are the heart of the organization. The fair would not be as successful as it is today if not for those members. The Madison County Fair is full of wonderful events and has been a place of fun and education for families for over a century.
