Every year, since 1999, on the first weekend of December, we come together as a community to celebrate the birth of our Savior Jesus Christ with The Grants Pass Community Nativity Festival. It is a meaningful and beautiful way to start the Christmas season, putting the focus of the season on Jesus Christ. Each year it showcases hundreds of nativity displays of Jesus Christ from different cultures around the world. The Grants Pass Community Nativity Festival has enjoyed local musicians, choirs, and performances from different churches, schools, and other community groups. The performances are beautiful and Jesus Christ-centered. In The Life of Christ room, there is artwork displayed that portrays the life, ministry, and atonement of Jesus Christ. Everyone of all ages are welcome, this being a very family friendly activity. There are many activities for children provided including arts and crafts, snacks, and personal assistance from a local sculptor to create their own clay masterpiece. While the Grants Pass Community Nativity Festival lasts only for a couple of days each year, the planning for this event starts in September and takes a small army of volunteers and hundreds of hours to organize and host this incredible activity.
