About Us

The goals of Scouting are to develop desirable character, good personal fitness and participatory citizenship in youth.

Camp Lavigne provides the place, the support, and the program to help accomplish these goals. This festival is one way for us to raise the needed funding to keep it going.

Since 1924, Camp Lavigne has been the traditional place for camping. It's beautiful woodlands, meadows and streams provide many advantages. The most valuable of these is nature's classroom, which highly motivates youth to learn.

Learning happens in many ways. It occurs best when people help each other in small groups (or patrols). In the troop, patrols live, work, and learn together. At scout camp, the adult leaders, Scoutmasters, and Camp Staff are all there to assist the Scouts along the way. Camp Lavigne's program is designed to fulfill the needs of each individual Scout by having them participate in these group learning experiences in the same manner as a unit at home.

The purpose of camp is to help the scouts succeed and to provide them with a positive growth experience. This is not only the ultimate goal of camp, but of Scouting itself.

This event will help to ensure that this valuable asset of scouting will continue to survive.
