The mission of the Vermont State Dance Festival is to provide a non-competitive event that is open to various levels and abilities of dance technique, offers collaboration and cooperation among students, teachers, and professionals, and enhances a positive learning environment for all who share the love of dance education and performance.
Schedule of Events
8:00 - 8:30 - Registration and Continental Breakfast in Auditorium lobby
8:45 – 8:50 - Welcome, performance by NCUHS Dance Company, and overview of day (Auditorium)
9:00 - 9:40 - Warm Up
10:00 - 11:00 - Workshop 1 and VT Teacher PLC Meeting
11:10 – 12:10 - Lunch and Screening Hour: lunch will be split into 2 blocks, schools/studios will be assigned a lunch block and when not eating dancers/teachers will go to the Auditorium to watch a short dance film (2, 30 min blocks)
12:15-12:25 - Performance by Coleman Dancers & Choreography Scholarship Recipient, Honorable
Scholarship mentions, and announcements (Auditorium)
12:40-1:40 - Workshop 2 or scheduled adjudicated rehearsals
2:00-3:00 - Workshop 3 or scheduled adjudicated rehearsals
3:20-3:50 - Cool Down
4:10-5:30 - Rehearsal for all performers in Auditorium with adjudication (feedback for artistic growth, not in comparison to other groups)
5:30 - 6:15 - Dinner in cafeteria (provided in cafeteria)
6:15 - 6:45 - Show preparation in Alumni Gymnasium and locker rooms, circle at 6:45pm in gym
7:00 - Public Evening Performance in the Auditorium (admission is by donation)
