City of Lanett Police Department Invites Community to Join National Celebration.

The City of Lanett Police Department is excited to invite neighborhoods and citizens throughout Lanett and Chambers County, Alabama to join over 38 million neighbors in 17,000 communities across all 50 states, U.S. territories, and military bases worldwide in celebrating National Night Out on Tuesday, August 5, 2025.

National Night Out is a nationwide, annual community-building campaign that promotes strong police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie, working together to make our communities safer, more caring places to live and work.

National Project Coordinator Matt Peskin shares, "This is a night for our nation to stand together and promote awareness, safety, and neighborhood unity. National Night Out showcases the vital importance of police-community partnerships and citizen involvement. When law enforcement and the community work closely together, some amazing things can happen."

Chief of Police Denise McCain shared her excitement:

“This being our first National Night Out, I am excited to see what this event brings to the City of Lanett. It is another chance for us to connect with our residents in a positive way and to make sure Lanett remains a safe place to live, work, and play.”

National Night Out is celebrated annually on the first Tuesday in August across the country and provides a unique opportunity to strengthen the bond between law enforcement and the community under positive and engaging circumstances.
