Latino Theater Company presents La Vida Es Sueno
by Pedro Calderón de la Barca
Directed by Liane Schirmer
Developed and devised by The Bilingual Foundation of the Arts
Prince Segismundo is brought to his father’s palace after a lifetime in chains. There, he commits a series of actions proving he’s unfit to rule. He’s returned to prison believing his experiences were but a dream, except for Rosaura, a noblewoman seeking revenge, with whom he fell in love. Both share the pain of betrayal by a loved one. These events cause him to question the nature of reality and the choices he has made. La Vida Es Sueño is a profound exploration of fate versus free will and how the power of forgiveness, both of oneself and others, can truly change our path.
