Latino Theater Company presents Interview with a Mexican
Written and Directed by Anthony J Garcia
Developed and devised by Su Teatro
Inspired by Gustavo Arellano's column “¡Ask a Mexican!,” Interview with a Mexican uses satire, humor and political incorrectness to examine stereotypes, anti-immigration politics and misconceptions that outsiders hold about Mexican culture. It is simultaneously informative, profound and obnoxious. Led by the all-knowing “Mexican,” inspired by the character Gold Hat from the Treasure of Sierra Madre, who answers questions from the curious, racist, and naive. The “Mexican” consistently imparts wisdom and challenges, as he encourages audiences to “Ask, so you don’t look like a pendejo.”
